The capital of Sicily is the multicultural center of the island, dynamic, intensiv and absolutely worth seeing.

A visit in Palermo begins in the storic center: Here you can find the king's palace and the churches S. Giovani degli Eremiti, S. Maria dell'Ammiraglio and S. Cataldo.

Do not forget to walk to the Vucciria market: you will find a waste variety of typical products from Sicily. You also have to see Monreale, a hill over Palermo, where there is the church of S. Maria la Nuova with beautiful mosaics.

On the east side of the island you have to visit the fishermen-village Aci Trezza.
